My research looks at the evolution of waste-related practices, representations and values in contemporary China. It is based on a political ecology approach and focuses on the nexus between recycling, environmentalism and state governance. I joined the School of Interdisciplinary Area Studies at the University of Oxford as a postdoctoral research assistant in 2017 to collaborate with Dr Anna Lora-Wainwright (SIAS) and Dr Peter Wynn Kirby on a project entitled Circuits of E-waste and Value: Making E-waste Subjects in China and Japan. I earned my PhD and MA in Anthropology from the University of Neuchâtel, and I also hold a MA in Law from the University of Geneva.
