Na Li got her BA and MA from Renmin University of China and holds a Research Master’s degree in Area Studies from Leiden University, the Netherlands. With an earlier study and working experience in China and academic training in Asian Studies in Europe, her research interests in modern China include Chinese religious culture, the relationship between religion and politics, and China's modernization, combining theories and methods from history, religious studies, political science, sociology, and anthropology.
