Graham Hutchings

Graham Hutchings is currently working on a biography of Sir Cecil Clementi (金文泰), himself a distinguished sinologist and one of the few Hong Kong cadets who rose to be Governor of the Colony (1925-1930). It will be published by Hong Kong University Press. Graham was Managing Editor at Oxford Analytica, the global analysis and advisory company and, prior to that, China Correspondent of London’s The Daily Telegraph based first in Beijing and then Hong Kong (1987-1998).

His most recent book is China 1949: Year of Revolution, published by Bloomsbury in January 2021.

His Modern China: A Companion to a Rising Power, was published by Penguin Press in 2000 and Harvard University Press in 2001.

He is an Honorary Professor in the School of Politics and International Relations, University of Nottingham.
