Professor Qiu, Institute of Philosophy Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, and Dr Bunnin, University of Oxford, co-organised these Philosophy Summer School in China international conferences in Beijing from 1999 to 2007 with sponsorship and financial support from the Ford Foundation. Dr Bunnin wrote the introduction, and Professor Qiu wrote the afterword, with the contents provided by over 60 eminent Chinese and Foreign contributors.
