Ning Zhang delivered a lecture at SOAS Centre for Southeast Asian Studies

Dr Ning Zhang delivered a lecture at the SOAS Centre of Southeast Asian Studies on 14 November 2023. The title of my lecture was "Refusing to be Stigmatised and Forgotten: The Hidden History of Chinese 'International Communism' Volunteers in Burma". Ning Zhang, Newton International Fellow, Faculty of Asian and Middle Eastern Studies, is currently undertaking a project titled 'Chinese Sent-Down Youth and the Communist Movement in Burma (1968–1989)', funded by the British Academy.
